This project started as quick ink drawings of random strangers in a pocket sketchbook that accompanied me on my travels in 2017. Nineteen characters (originating from: a Chicago coffee shop; both O’Hare and Philly International; a cafe in Media, Pennsylvania; a Philadelphia hotel; and a Louisville coffee shop) were illustrated together into one coffee shop scenario. The visual re-mix was then sent to nine writer friends with speech, text,and thought bubbles left blank for them to script. Here are their interpretations.
